title: Bully-Free Workshop

"Bully-Free" Workshop
This workshop is specifically geared towards students between the ages of 7-10.

The goals of this workshop are to:

  1. help students identify their own personality strengths
  2. illustrate the importance of being gentle with ourselves and others

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. recognize the difference between positive and negative attitudes in themselves and others
  2. consciously change personal attitudes from negative to positive

Second and third grade students respond especially well to this workshop. They enjoy discovering meanings behind various types of behavior in themselves and others.

During a 40 minute presentation conducted by the author, Marcy stories are used to facilitate class participation in a wide variety of topics ranging from bully-free conflict resolution to creative writing. The approach taken engages students in a fun-filled sharing of thoughts and ideas in a safe environment.
